✅ CHECKLIST: Mission "Clean Leather"
Share
Follow these steps for a professional, grease-free result.
📦 Before you start, prepare:
-
[ ] PRO Degreasing Bundle (The essentials)
-
[ ] Leather Ultra Clean (Deep cleaner)
-
[ ] 2-3 Clean Microfiber Cloths
-
[ ] Hairdryer (Optional, to speed up the liquid degreaser)
-
[ ] Vacuum Cleaner (To remove the dry powder at the end)
🛠️ Step-by-Step Process:
-
[ ] Surface Clean: Wipe the area with Leather Ultra Clean. The grease won't vanish yet, but you’ll remove the dust and grime that block the degreaser.
-
[ ] Patch Test: Apply a drop of Liquid Degreaser to a hidden area. Wait 1 minute. Everything looks good? Let’s move on!
-
[ ] Liquefy: Soak a cloth generously with Liquid Degreaser and rub the greasy stain. The leather will darken—this is normal; the liquid is entering the pores.
-
[ ] The Magnet (Gel): While the leather is still slightly damp, apply a thick layer of Degreaser Gel with a brush. Don’t hold back—it must cover the stain completely.
-
[ ] The Great Wait: Go grab a coffee! ☕ The gel needs to dry completely until it turns into a white powder (usually takes from 30 minutes to a few hours depending on humidity).
-
[ ] Color Check: * Is the powder white? Congratulations, the grease is gone!
-
Is the powder yellow/brown? The grease has been pulled into it. Clean it off and repeat steps 3 and 4.
-
-
[ ] Final Clean-up: Vacuum away the powder and wipe the surface with a clean, damp cloth.
📢 Golden Rules from Furniture Clinic:
⚠️ Pro Tip: Never rub dry powder aggressively with a dry cloth—using a vacuum cleaner is much gentler on the leather grain. 🛡️ Final Step: Always finish with a re-colouring balm or protection cream. After degreasing, the leather is "naked" and completely unprotected.
